Terms of Appointment

Remuneration and benefits

This is a senior appointment in the organisation. Remuneration will be in the range of £84,987 to £121,620 per annum. Whilst the appointee will usually start at the lower end of the range, the higher part of the range may be available for exceptional candidates. Other benefits include 40 days annual leave (including public holidays), and membership of the Alpha pension scheme (Civil Service pension Scheme) which is a defined benefit, career average scheme.

Location

We are following Public Health England’s advice and taking all necessary steps to minimise the risks to our colleagues, their families and the wider public. Our systems are designed to be operated remotely and our staff are working from home. We expect this role to be based remotely initially with an option of being based at either our London or Newcastle office in due course.

Conflicts of interest

It is essential that the NAO upholds, and is seen to uphold, the highest standards of propriety in its governance, and potential candidates will need to ensure that they do not hold any non-executive posts, any other appointments or any others interests which may be in conflict with their NAO role.
