  • Successful track record as either a Chief Executive or senior Director of delivering outstanding impact within an organisation with volunteers at the heart of its leadership and delivery.
  • Demonstrable track record of effective leadership to an empowered and motivated leadership team.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading and embedding inclusive practices within an organisation.
  • Experience of leading and delivering organisational change and growth.

Influence and collaboration

  • Strong track record in building and maintaining positive and open relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Evidence of achieving significant influence on public policy at a national level.
  • Experience of delivering objectives through working with partners across the UK.
  • Experience of understanding and working with the devolved nations.
  • Track record of external communications and advocacy, including national media.

Financial and organisational management

  • Track record of commercial decision-making, income generation, and income diversification.
  • Demonstrable track record of service and policy innovation, keeping ahead of changes in the external environment and maintaining an organisation responsive to change.
  • Demonstrable track record of converting an organisational vision and strategy into tangible performance outcomes.
  • Experience of taking a commercial approach to organisational management and diversifying income streams with a demonstrable track record in business development.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of and/or demonstrable commitment to the not-for-profit sector and understanding of the fundraising community.

Circumstances

  • Able to work outside office hours when required.
  • Willing to undertake travel and overnight stays largely within the UK but sometimes for work in the wider European and international fundraising community.
