Dear potential CEO of Magic Breakfast,

I am delighted that you are interested in finding out more about Magic Breakfast; a charity which was established 20 years ago, dedicated to tackling classroom hunger in the UK through the provision of healthy breakfasts to schoolchildren at risk of food insecurity.  Magic Breakfast stands out for the simplicity of our mission and the extraordinary passion and commitment of our staff.

The charity is on the precipice of significant growth and opportunity, the issue of food inequality in the UK is in sharp focus and our response to the impact of COVID 19 on breakfast hunger has raised our profile.

We have recently launched an ambitious 5-year strategy for growth and consolidation. At the beginning of 2021 we doubled the number of partner schools we work with and have plans to continue to expand to support even more over the next few years. This expansion brings with it some organisational challenges, as we scale up our systems and operations to ensure that we maintain the same high quality that Magic Breakfast is known for.

Magic Breakfast is looking for a visionary leader to navigate this next phase and to ensure our future success. A dynamic, motivational, passionate and experienced leader to steer a newly expanded team of 70+ people through the charity’s next period of growth and to be a champion of our fundraising and policy advocacy at the highest levels. The team are dedicated, caring, creative and hard-working; always focused on what is best for the hungry child.

With many very exciting plans in place and an army of loyal funders and supporters all working towards the vision of “no child in the UK too hungry to learn”, the prospects and scope for leadership of the charity are tremendously exciting for the right candidate.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I thank you for your interest in Magic Breakfast.

Kind regards,
Joanne Thompson.
