About Us

Hightown is a rapidly growing, charitable housing association operating in Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Berkshire.

It has its central office on the Maylands Estate in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

We provide affordable housing for people who cannot afford to buy or rent at market rates and supported housing and services for people who are vulnerable or disabled.

We have over 7,200 homes, 1,000 staff and an annual turnover of over £100 million. We have a strong development programme and expect to build 2,000 new affordable homes over the next four years. We provide care and supported housing in around 85 homes and projects where the majority of our staff are based.

Our values are what drive our business:

Values

  • Put residents and service users first
  • Treat people with respect.
  • Be cost effective
  • Don’t compromise standards or safety
  • Develop passionate and committed teams

Plans for the future

We will develop 1,000 more affordable homes over the next two years, prioritising homes for rent.

We will stay financially strong, invest our surpluses in new homes and borrow funds to support our continuing development programme.

We will continue to deliver care and supported housing activities to vulnerable and disabled people while exploring opportunities to expand our services.

We will ensure that our housing services to our residents remain at a high standard and continue to rate highly compared with our peers.

We will maintain high staff satisfaction levels and develop our ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’ model for supporting our staff.
