Our Values and Our Culture
We continuously work on embedding our values in the way we work with young and adult carers, our partners and with each other. They are what we value in our people and the people that aspire to work for Carers Trust.
- Team Workers
supporting each other toward a common goal. - Responsive
putting ourselves in others’ shoes and responding to their needs. - United
working as one organisation meeting challenges together. - Supportive
enabling one another to do a great job. - Transparent
being honest and open with one another. - Enterprising
being bold, pro-active and evolving. - Diverse
understanding and celebrating the different things we each bring to Carers Trust.
Inclusion and Diversity
We believe that diversity is an outcome of being a more inclusive organisation and we are striving to create an inclusive environment where everyone has an equal chance to succeed. We have embarked on the first step of that journey by holding a number of listening workshops across the organisation to listen and understand people’s individual stories, the review of our key people policies and the inclusiveness of our people’s processes. Our vision is that everyone understands their part to play in the success of Carers Trust and feel welcomed and supported to do that.
Employee Engagement
We have an amazing team of people working for Carers Trust who are dedicated to improving the lives of unpaid carers across the UK. To support our engagement with that team we have developed the people forum to discuss issues that matter to our people. The People forum exists to support and improve the people experiences for all our people at Carers Trust and they work together with the senior leadership team to identify themes, find solutions and support our ambition to be an inclusive and high-performing organisation which provides the support needed for people from all different backgrounds to thrive at Carers Trust.
Our People experience vision
Developed earlier this year our people experience vision is the cornerstone of what we measure and look to improve through our check ins with our people, our approach to checking in with people will in the future focus on:
- Wellbeing
People feel safe and uniquely valued at work and are treated equitably and with dignity. - Building connections
Have high-quality relationships with their colleagues, characterised by mutual respect. - Focused
People know what success looks like and what to prioritise. People know when they are on track and regularly receive feedback that helps them improve. - Empowered
People can easily find information, people, tools, and resources they need, and feel empowered to make decisions about how to best direct their talent and effort. - Developed
People get what they need to maximise their strengths, learn new skills, broaden their experience, and progress toward their goals. - Purpose
People are part of something bigger than themselves and know it. Their work serves others and has a meaningful impact.
